A lot of people do not like Chess because it is too slow, requiring the player to know a number of pre-set strategies and to plan several moves ahead of the current board set up.  Sir Bombalot, on the other hand, is an interesting and fun alternative to Chess.  The game moves at a much faster pace, to the point where in one turn your opponent can change the layout of the board.  The pieces allow you to do everything from jump multiple pieces to freezing those of your opponent.  It is the perfect game for people who like to think quickly and respond to fast paced changes.  Best summated as a shoot-em-up chess game.

Sir Bombalot is a fun, exciting, and challenging game.  You can learn on your own against the computer, play your friends on a local network and across the Internet or meet and play others on the EG Server.

Sir Bombalot is shareware and can be safely registered, here, online via credit card.

Requirements

• Windows 95/98/2000
• DirectX 5.0 or greater.
• To play peer to peer using TCP/IP over the Internet, the person who is joining the game must enter the IP address of the machine that hosted the game.  You can find out the IP address of your machine by running "winipcfg".  If you have a network card and a modem installed, you will need to make sure you read the IP address of the modem connection to the Internet.  The modem will show up as a "PPP Adapter".
• Our networking uses Microsoft's DirectPlay which does not work through proxies or firewalls.

Game Play

Sir Bombalot is a variant of chess with pieces offering a myriad of different options at any given time.  There are seven different pieces that do everything from jump multiple pieces to freezing those of your opponent's.  When any of these pieces are used in combination they can drastically change the terrain of the board, altering both your and your opponent's strategy in a moments notice.  Best summated as a shoot-em-up chess game.

For example:

	Super Coil A Super Coil can jump both your own and your opponent's pieces in one move, killing any of your opponent's pieces that it jumps over.
	Pusher The Pusher pushes any object directly in it's path in the same direction that it is going; both yours and those of your opponent.
	Freezer The Freezer immobilizes all your opponent's pieces within a one square radius.  However, anywhere the zones of two Freezers overlap frees the pieces sitting there.
	Mimic The Mimic mimics the abilities of the previous object moved by your opponent.  That is, if your opponent just moved his Pusher, you can use the Mimic as a Pusher.
